History of the Ishayas' Ascension
|
Maharishi Sadashiva Isham (MSI) 1949-1997
|
Happily
married with three children, MSI’s life transformed suddenly in 1988,
when he lost his job, house, money, and family to divorce. Taking these
changes as a sign that there was another purpose for his life, he set
out to search for truth.
In the Himalayas he found the ancient order of monks known as the
Ishayas (a journey he fictionalized in his book, “First Thunder”). From
them, he learned the techniques collectively known as “The Ishayas’
Ascension”. They instructed him to bring these techniques to the world
in this time of great need. Through his commitment and dedication to
the Ishayas’ Teaching, a group of qualified teachers is now established
in the Tradition of the Ishaya Lineage.
Below you'll find passages about the Ishayas from MSI's book titled Ascension! An
Analysis of the Art of Ascension as taught by the Ishayas. You
can find further information about the Ishayas in this book. Enjoy your
journey! |
Where does one
begin to define
the Ishaya Tradition?
|
There
are many ancient traditions in the world that maintain that anyone can
rise to complete human consciousness, that anyone can live the highest
state of human development. Far from being the exclusive privilege of
the chosen few, blessed by birth or circumstance, these traditions
claim this is the natural birthright of all.
If this is true, it must not be difficult to move into a more expanded
level of consciousness. It must be neither complicated nor a matter of
faith. It must not require a giant intellect nor an unswerving belief.
Nothing must be required that is not possessed by all humans
everywhere. The only requirements would be curiosity and the
willingness to give this development a chance. This well describes the
practice of Ascension as taught by the Ishayas.
The Ishayas are an ancient Order of monks, one that claims to stem
directly from the Apostle John, following the direct orders of Christ
to preserve his teachings until the third millennium. They hold that
the original teachings of Jesus were not a belief system at all, but
rather a mechanical series of techniques to transform human life into a
constant perception and knowing of the perfection of divinity within
every human heart. According to the Ishayas, our only responsibility
here on Earth is to make sure we are not working against Cosmic
Intelligence, either consciously or unconsciously.
Ishaya masters from the time of their founding by the Apostle John have
been content to live a life of silence in the remotest regions of the
Himalayas. They chose to save and preserve the Twenty-seven Techniques
of Ascension for the modern world, keeping them hidden and secret until
the dawn of the third millennium. More correctly stated: the Ishayas
were instructed by Infinite Intelligence to preserve Ascension in
silence and seclusion until now. And it is also true that now the
Ishayas have been told and recognized the long awaited time has come.
That which has been long withheld is now being released: Ascension is
to enter the world now.
Fortunate are those who recognize the authority of this ancient
Teaching and align with it: their lives will change in ways it is
difficult even to conceive. Full enlightenment will dawn for them as
their age old habits of compromise and lack of full integrity fall
away, and are replaced by the continual moment-by-moment experience of
the One Unchanging at the center of their being. A complete life of
bliss and Infinite Awareness will dawn for any who effortlessly treads
the path of the Ishayas’ Ascension.
And do you know what? Belief is not required. It is absolutely not
required. Ascension is a series of mechanical techniques that require
no belief to begin or practice. Ascension is based on direct
experience. There is no necessity for believing anything about it. Try
it for yourself. As your beliefs and habits begin to shift with your
changing experience of life, inquire more and more deeply exactly what
is true and what is not, more and more deeply what is Real and what is
not. Thus only freedom comes.
